i have a headache. i also have 13 weeks off of uni. been spending most of my waking hours walking around listening to music loudly.

its a shame we couldnt record the gene sequence of Hunter S. Thompson so as to clone him later (extremely strong contender in my 'dream blunt rotation').

ive always been dubious of Freud's dream theories but started reading the Interpretation of Dreams anyway. Delboeuf's lizard-dream and subconscious recollection in Dream Material- Memory in Dreams reminded me of a nightmare i had once about a new atomic-bomb [called a TRITON BOMB], which once detonated would turn the world black-and-white for a minute or so before explosions began. imagine my suprise a week or so later when i saw a truck carrying a shipping containter with TRITON written across it in bold white the same way the bombs did! i hadn't paid attention to the container logo but i guess my subconscious had.

recently a fatigued magpie appeared on my front verge. i thought it had heatstroke or something (40 degree-celcius days right nowish). my dad had put a wooden crate thing over it so it wasnt in the sun and gave it a water bowl. i gave it half a mango which it ate slowly but i think enthusiastically. my dad ended up taking it to a wildlife centre. found out it was infected with a viral paralysis disease which has only recently began to spread to local magpies. no-body knows much about it. some local scientists reckon it has the potential to cause a mass magpie extinction event. apparently it has a 40% mortality rate in the birds. they stop being able to move and eat and eventually breathe. brain-degenerative disease is my worst case death scenario. i hope the poor bird lives.
